8 Villains That Need To Appear In Batfleck's Arkham Asylum Movie

With The Riddler we edge into the dark ages of Batman's cinematic exploits: The Schumacher age.

For better or worse (definitely worse) The Riddler is ostensibly linked to Jim Carry's lycra clad performance in Batman Forever. Not quite matching the horror/comedy that is Batman and Robin (more on that later), Batman Forever damaged two of Batman's most iconic villains leaving many members of the public thinking that the Riddler is an over dramatic and particularly poor riddle maker.

Christopher Nolan managed to salvage Two Face in The Dark Knight and Affleck could certainly do the same here. Edward Nigma as portrayed in the New 52 is a brilliant strategist and the first masked villain Batman ever has to face.

He defeats the Caped Crusader not once but twice in their initial battles, simultaneously bringing Gotham to its knees and forcing a state of emergency. It takes the combined efforts of Batman, Commissioner Gordon and Lucious Fox to take the revamped genius down. The storyline ends with him being placed in an early version of Arkham Asylum, prior to it officially being used to hold Batman's rogues gallery.

Always two steps ahead of the Dark Knight, Arkham provides a perfect setting for the Riddler to twist and torment our favourite vigilante - Affleck needs to save Nigma from silver screen purgatory.
