8 Ways Batman V Superman Could Be A Total Let Down
7. Oh, And Most Of At Least One Fight Has Been Spoiled In The Trailers
Do you remember how excited you were to see Spider-Man battle Rhino in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 only to realise that Sony had spoiled the entire fight in the trailer? Well, this is a problem that plagues the majority of superhero movies as studios look to impress picky fans with the biggest and best scenes from their films, only to end up having shown all the best bits before they're even released. Batman v Superman look set to be no expectation. While the teaser trailer only hinted at the battle between Batman and Superman, the Comic-Con preview featured a lot of difference scenes from their battle in Gotham. With at least two more trailers on the way before next March, countless TV spots, and no doubt more than a handful of clips, there's every chance that by the time the movie reaches cinemas, we will have all seen a very large chunk of the war between these two heroes. Batman fighting Superman is obviously a major selling point for a movie titled Batman v Superman, but it's still a shame that Warner Bros. seem intent on spoiling it for everyone. In fact, the conclusion of their first meeting appears to have already been ruined thanks to the trailer's final shot which saw the Man of Steel tearing apart the Batmobile. Perhaps I'm jumping the gun here and this ultimately won't be too much of an issue. The fight could after all be bigger than expected, but it was so heavily featured in that recent trailer that it's become a little harder to get excited over something we've already been shown so much of. With any luck, Warner Bros. will have learned from Marvel Studios (who kept the Hulk's battle with Thor in The Avengers a complete secret before that was released) and held back at least some surprises for fans. The plus side to showing off so much of Batman and Superman's fight is that they seem to be keeping the foe they'll team up against hidden, but therein lies another big problem...
