Warner Bros. shocked everyone recently by announcing their plans to release an R-Rated cut of Batman v Superman on Blu-ray, and should that prove to be a success, we could see everything from Wonder Woman to Justice League get the same treatment. However, it's also possible that the studio decides to start making the theatrical versions of these releases R-Rated as well, something which would be a real game changer. Right about now, you're probably thinking about Deadpool, but the difference there is that he's not a mainstream superhero like Batman. Ben Affleck's Batman movie being an R would be huge, and could signal a conscious decision by Warner Bros. to try and attract a more adult audience.
