7. Jai Courtney Appears To Be Doing Some Actual Acting

Jai Courtney is often lambasted for his "genericness." Almost all of his roles to date have consisted of banal characters, all impossible to tell apart. Whether he's in Die Hard or The Terminator, he's pretty much Jai Courtney. And before the new Suicide Squad trailer dropped, most people presumably expected him to deliver the same thing in this flick. Uh-uh. Against the odds, Courtney appears to be doing something remarkable in Suicide Squad - something that he's never really done before: act. As criminal supervillain Captain Boomerang, Courtney genuinely looks as though he's putting all of his talent and energy into playing a character that people are going to remember; he's all wide-eyed, scatty and full of nervous, hyped-up energy... and in a way that we've never seen him before. In fact, he's arguably the most intriguing element in the entire trailer, which is something that this writer never thought anybody would write about Jai Courtney.
