8 Ways New Suicide Squad Trailer Made You Change Your Mind
6. It's A Lot More Fantastical/Magical Than Most People Probably Expected
So it appears as if Suicide Squad, which was previously marketed as a gritty thriller of sorts, is actually more fantastical and magically-inclined than you might have first thought. How you feel about that, exactly, largely depends on how you like this particular side of the DC Universe; if you like Christopher Nolan's Batman movies, chances are that seeing supernatural monsters splattered all over the trailer is going to upset you. Which means that, if you were expecting something dark and sombre with a "real world" vibe, you've likely changed your mind about Suicide Squad having seen this trailer. Because, clearly, there's no beating around the bush with regards to all the mystical elements inherent to this blockbuster - the squad appear to be facing off against weird, gooey monsters during a few scenes, not to mention at one point there's a giant tentacle thing (and a magic sword containing the souls of dead people). You can opt to embrace the madness, of course, or you can reject it. Whatever you decide, there's no way the trailer's clear fantastical elements won't affect how dubious you are.
