8 Ways New Suicide Squad Trailer Made You Change Your Mind

5. The Dialogue Is Even Cornier Than You First Thought

The first teasers for Suicide Squad showed a movie embracing a sense of the "corny," but it was far too dark and bleak to fully resonant that way. Even the goofiest line, uttered by Will Smith's Deadshot ("I guess that makes us some kind of Suicide Squad") had a feeling of melancholy surrounding it. Out of context, it would have all seemed super corny. Which means that, having watched this trailer, it's safe to assume that nearly everybody has outright changed their mind with regards to just how corny they imagined Suicide Squad to be. Because almost every single line in the trailer comes across that way. Seriously: everything from "What is this, cheerleading tryouts?" to "Let's go save the world!" to "We're bad guys! It's what we do" - corny, corny, corny, corny! Across the board. Given that it's a comic book movie, it was somewhat expected, to a degree. But it's somewhat surprising to learn that this film hasn't steered clear of the cheese factor. If anything, it's embracing it to a degree nobody could have possibly imagined it would.
