8 Ways Suicide Squad Improved On Batman V Superman

2. There's No Awkward Shoehorning Of Justice League Characters

DC doesn’t have a lot of patience when it comes to building their Cinematic Universe, so instead of starting with solo adventures they decided to front-load Batman V Superman with lots of Justice League lore. Uniting two huge comic book icons for a fight is more than enough for one movie, and while Gal Gadot made for a cool Wonder Woman the plot didn’t require her character; it also didn’t require she watch some Justice League teasers on her laptop.

This awkward shoehorning was a necessary evil to set up the Justice League, but it sure was distracting. Thankfully Suicide Squad eased up on these hints. Superman’s death is a prime motivator for Amanda Waller to assemble Task Force X, but aside from Batman appearing in flashback none of the League is directly involved with the main plot.

The Flash’s ultra-brief cameo actually fits nicely without being distracting, and the post credit scene with Bruce Wayne and Waller is a nice tease for both Justice League and a potential Suicide Squad 2.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
