6. More History Than The Marvel Cinematic Universe
It may seem silly to claim that the DC Extended Universe has more history than Marvel's when they're a good ten or more movies ahead, but that world started with Iron Man. Yes, they've made attempts to flesh it out since with stories set during World War II or flashbacks to various other eras (see: Ant-Man), but there aren't really untold stories with the heroes and villains introduced to date. This world on the other hand has years of history we've yet to delve into. Batman has been operating for over two decades, and while Superman's story is still playing out, it's quickly becoming apparent thanks to the introduction of characters like Aquaman and Wonder Woman that's there's a much bigger world around him and he's far from the first person to don a costume and start saving lives. The references to The Joker in this trailer (one new, one familiar) perfectly emphasise this fact, and while Captain America: Civil War is no doubt going to do a great job of building on the history we've seen play out between The Avengers, there's something even more exciting about the prospect of being teased and introduced to a brand new world with a past that's going to slowly be revealed in Batman V Superman.
