8 Weirdest Accidents On The Sets Of Films

2. Everyone - Titanic

Blade Accident
Fox

Titanic was a mammoth of a film to shoot, requiring extensive stunt work and grueling underwater shoots to pull off some of the most technically taxing scenes in cinema history.

Stories of injuries on the set were numerous, mostly in relation to the famous scene where the Titanic tips upside down. However, its most interesting medical emergency occurred during the last night of shooting in Nova Scotia.

James Cameron himself came down to mingle with all of the crew and actors that had toiled away at the film for months, toasting to their success and letting everyone know they were free to enjoy themselves on their final night. Someone took this instruction a little too literally, taking it upon themselves to spike the clam chowder with PCP.

It was never discovered who spiked the food, but actor Bill Paxton and even Cameron himself were struck, describing himself feeling "suddenly and very distinctly woozy". Apparently, at least 80 crew members ended up being whisked off to the hospital as a result. According to Cameron people were laughing maniacally, dancing on tables, forming conga lines, and a member of the crew even stabbed him in the face with a pen during their stupor.
