9 "Dead" Movie Characters Who Must Return In Upcoming Sequels

Thanos is one of the most interesting and complex movie villains. He is a genocidal conqueror who has tricked himself into believing he's doing good; the majority of ill in the entire MCU springs from him or his actions. He was a large presence and defeating him (twice) was the build-up of the entire twenty-two film Infinity Saga. He might still come back.

So, yeah, anyway, he might be coming back. Thanos is, well, it's called a Deviant. They are the mutated members of a race called The Eternals, a living defense force created by the godlike Celestials. If you know your MCU rumors, you know that The Eternals is the next big event series that Marvel Studios will be introducing. And, at least some of it is set in the past.

Thanos is coming back, it just might be before either of his deaths.

That said, most of his comics' life takes place shortly after one of his rebirths. He comes back as the Avatar of Death, by escaping using some clever scheme, by erasing the will and life force of another person with his own - Thanos wins. There's a chance that, despite all their fighting and losing, despite Iron Man's sacrifice, Thanos will return.
