See Him In: Martha Marcy May Marlene Look Out For Him In: James White Best know for his turn as Charlie Dattolo in the first couple of seasons of Girls (he has the unenviable task of having to put up with Allison Williams' Marnie), Christopher Abbott is making waves Stateside with James White, which is being heralded as an astonishing, devastating performance (the film played the London Film festival here, but has yet to score a cinematic release date), and which is also doing the rounds on a few critics' end-of-year best-of lists. Without much in the way of sure-fire box-office gold, Abbott, on the contrary to many on this list, looks set to stay an indie darling, someone potentially in the mould of a Paul Dano, an actor who has acquired a widespread, well-known appeal without ever really featuring in a mainstream blockbuster. James White aside, Abbot's most interesting 2016 project looks to be Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, a war comedy which will see the actor star alongside Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman, and Margot Robbie.
