When Mel Gibson was dropped from the cast of The Hangover Part 2 for... well, being Mel Gibson, director Todd Phillips managed to bring in Liam Neeson in his stead.
This was a sizable coup for movie and the role of a crazy backstreet tattoo artist was a great fit for the Taken star, but the match made in heaven fell apart when reshoots were deemed necessary.
Obviously Neeson is a busy guy making all those Taken knockoffs, and when he was unavailable for the new takes, Phillips was forced to replace him with Nick Cassavetes, the director of The Notebook.
