9 Awesome Deleted Scenes From The Dark Knight Trilogy
7. The Death Of Foley
Perhaps one of the most polarising characters in The Dark Knight Rises is Foley, played by Matthew Modine. The character is supposed to be the embodiment of the current state of the Gotham Police Department after the events of The Dark Knight; softened and overconfident due to years of peace. The great thing about Nolans Batman films is that even the minor supporting characters get their own arcs, and this is indeed the case with Foley. He starts out as a pompous jackass who cowers in fear until he is finds the courage to stand with Batman against Bane. And then, out of nowhere, he dies. The abrupt off-screen nature of his death comes off kind of awkward - you probably didn't even realise that he actually run over by Talia's Tumbler. Despite planning and filming the stunt, it was eventually removed from the final cut of the film, resulting in a murder that lacks any real impact. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yucv7GB_lRo
