9 Awesome Deleted Scenes From The Dark Knight Trilogy
2. Bruce Explains Why He Needs Batman
Way back in 2004, when Batman Begins was still in production, Warner Bros. released the first official teaser trailer, giving fans their first glimpse at the highly anticipated reboot. The trailer's dark and brooding tone quickly set aside any fears people had in the aftermath of Batman & Robin, establishing that the series was, at least conceptually, on the right track. But aside from just being an effective teaser, it also features an engrossing monologue by Bruce Wayne concerning the nature of his alter ego Batman. It's so chillingly effective to the point where, had you not known it was a trailer for a Batman movie, the reveal would have come as a genuine shock. Surprisingly, both the dialogue and the quick shot of him at the end are not in the final cut of the movie, despite being a pretty strong character moment. The monologue would have most likely been directed at Alfred in an effort on Bruce's part to better explain what exactly he is doing, but maybe didn't work quite as well in the film as it does as a teaser, which still generates goosebumps all these years later. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lu2ecPMX0kI
