9 Awesome Villains For A Guardians Of The Galaxy Sequel

5. Blastaar

In one Guardians of the Galaxy comic book arc, Star-Lord was banished to the Negative Zone by Ronan the Accuser (who will be appearing in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie as a villain) for his actions during the Phalanx's attempted conquest of the Kree Empire (which could quite easily be altered for the purposes of the movie, given that Star-Lord will surely be up to all kinds of other mischievous things that warrant a banishing). There, he finds himself in the middle of King Blastaar's fight to break into 42 - a prison constructed to house supervillains - and use its portal to invade Earth. Star-Lord allies with Jack Flag (who would be a great character to have in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, given his connections to Captain America) to defend the prison and contact the other Guardians for rescue. With Rocket in charge, the team successfully bring both of them back and Flag becomes a Guardian. It would make for an epic movie arc and the Negative Zone would be a very interesting addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Blastaar is a beastly foe who possesses superhuman strength, durability and endurance, as well as self-propelled flight and energy blasts.
