9 Awesome Villains For A New Green Lantern Movie

5. Hector Hammond

DC ComicsDC ComicsHector Hammond was a secondary villain in the previous Green Lantern movie but, let's be honest, he was awful. A classic Green Lantern villain was ruined and painfully underutilised and very few devout comic book fans would complain if DC and Warner Brothers attempted to rectify this with a more prominent and truer-to-the-source-material portrayal of the character in a new movie. Peter Sarsgaard's portrayal wasn't without merit - the American did... "okay" with the material he was given - but the character was incredibly weak in comparison to his comic book counterpart. Thanks to exposure to the Parallax entity, he had the ability to read minds and some fairly unimpressive telekinetic abilities (the best showing of that being the causing of a helicopter to crash), but he was killed by Parallax, after having his soul sucked out, and left as a withered corpse, for having "failed" the cosmic fear monster. The comic book version has all of those powers to a much more impressive degree, as well as the ability to mind-control people - a key aspect of the character - so for him to be lacking it in the movie was a big shame. He also didn't look as frighteningly deformed, or lose the ability to walk, in that movie and a more faithful depiction would go down well in a new movie.
