9 Beloved Films With Boring Scenes That Everybody Ignores
7. Frozen - The Trolls
Frozen was Disney's finest animation since The Lion King (they even admitted it themselves in a trailer for the film). The animations was sumptuous, the characters were just the right level of self-aware and the songs... well what else can be said about the songs? Family fun and heartwarming fun wrapped in an icy bow. Then there's the trolls. Ah yes, the rolling rocks that are in the kingdom and also magic for some reason who save Anna after she's injured by her sister's ice powers somehow and also adopt Kristoff, again for some reason. Yeah, they're pretty much an unashamed deux ex machina, pushing the plot forward when the solution is magic of the non-freezing kind. Even the song's pretty forgettable. Now this would all be OK if they were fun. To lean on The Lion King comparison, Timon and Pumbaa were heavily leaned on despite their small role in the plot, but their interplay made it all worthwhile. Any extended time with the trolls in Frozen feels like it's there only to justify having a plot device. And on re-watch it gets a lot less cute.
