9 Beloved Films With Boring Scenes That Everybody Ignores

4. Toy Story 3 - Meet Bonnie

It may not match its predecessors, but Toy Story 3 did a solid job of rounding off the themes of the trilogy (sadly it didn't end the series, which still limps onwards with unimaginative TV specials). So what if it's remaking the second film, it's still quite a bit of fun. One concept the film managed to capitalise on after animation wouldn't allow before. Instead of just seeing Andy moving the toys with his fake voices, this times we got to see everything as he (or is it the toys) imagines it. It smartly sidesteps the obligatory introduction via play time and kicks the film off strong. And yet it feels like all that progress is being undone less than an hour later, when Woody is taken home by pre-schooler Bonnie. Simultaneously introducing us to a host of new characters, the scene of the girl (who like Andy she has both an immeasurable imagination and unrelenting stamina) playing with the toys feels a bit of a creative step back, out of place in the story. Come the ending all of Andy's toys have ended up with Bonnie, making this scene merely an emotional place-holder that exists only so the can reach ultimate tear factor.
