After Disney turned their attention to live action remakes and started pulling in hundreds of millions of new money on old material, it was inevitable that we'd be getting more of them after this year's releases of Dumbo, Aladdin and The Lion King.
A Lilo & Stitch remake was already on the cards, but now Disney have announced (as reported by Deadline) that they're making The Hunchback Of Notre Dame too.
What's most exciting about it is that Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz are back writing the new music and Tony-winning M. Butterfly playwright David Henry Hwang is writing the script. Josh Gad has been linked with the lead role, but there's nothing concrete yet. Still, all very exciting.
