After missing out on Ant-Man and then delighting a lot of fans with the swagger of Baby Driver, Edgar Wright will next return to his horror roots (just as Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are) according to the man himself (via Empire!)

The director apparently told the British magazine that his next project will be “a straight-up psychological horror-thriller,” set in London with a female lead. He's taking inspiration from both Don’t Look Now and Repulsion, which should be very exciting for horror fans:

“I realised I had never made a film about central London – specifically Soho, somewhere I’ve spent a huge amount of time in the last 25 years. With Hot Fuzz and Shaun Of The Dead you make movies about places you’ve lived in. This movie is about the London I’ve existed in.”

Penny Dreadful writer Krysty Wilson-Cairns - who worked with Sam Mendes on the script for his upcoming World War I drama 1917 - co-wrote the screenplay.
