9 Better Villains Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 Should Have Used

Any excuse to add Jeff Goldblum to a movie’s cast should be reason enough to do so. While he’s already set to appear in Thor: Ragnarok, why not give audiences a sneak peek at Goldblum’s portrayal of the Grandmaster before he fights an inevitably losing battle against an invincible Thunder God?

The Grandmaster is a giant, blue all-powerful being created from cosmic radiation caused by the Big Bang. Now that you’ve let that lunacy sink in, there’s also the fact that he’s immortal, can ‘will’ people to die and has the ability to resurrect the fallen. Essentially, he’s a narrative cheat code.

This is the sort of character who would benefit from being a malevolent force in the background of a number of Marvel movies, much more so than Thanos – a supposedly unmatched combatant who is yet to do anything more threatening than growl.

Where would he fit into Guardians you ask? He’s the brother of The Collector, Benicio Del Toro’s creepy space pawnbroker from the first movie who seems set to play a larger role in upcoming entries. If nothing else, it would be a dream come true to see Del Toro and Goldblum squabble over the fate of the universe.
