9 Big Questions After Comic-Con 2018

5. Is Dark Phoenix Actually Coming Out?

This may seem like a strange question, but does Fox remember that they have an X-Men movie coming out next year? Because it seems like they don't.

While upcoming films like The Predator got extensive panels, there was nary a peep about X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Hell, even Deadpool 2, a movie that was released in theaters in MAY got a panel to discuss its Blu-ray release.

With the Disney/Fox merger now all but set-in-stone, there have been murmurs questioning whether or not Dark Phoenix will ever even properly see the light of day. Originally set for release this coming November, Fox pushed it back to February of 2019 to allow more time for editing and reshoots. Then rumors began to circulate that the first test screenings had gone incredibly poorly, leading the creative team to essentially feel the need to restructure the entire film.

On top of all of this, this is almost certainly going to be this cast's final film as the characters regardless. As soon as the Disney/Fox deal is complete, the X-Men will be merged into the MCU and more likely than not, Marvel will opt to just recast the roles so as to cut ties with this franchise's convoluted mythology.

So believe it or not, there seems to be a decent chance that if this gets released in theaters at all, it will be to little fanfare and in the interest of simply attempting to recoup their losses.
