9 Biggest Movies Coming Out In July 2018
1. Mission: Impossible VI
By next year, the Mission: Impossible film franchise will be twenty-two years old. The series has been reinvented so many time by several different directors over the years, and somehow they've only improved with each successive film. The sixth instalment marks a change in franchise history, as it's the first time an M:I film has been directed by the previous film's helmsman. Christopher McQuarrie, who sat in the chair on 2015's Rogue Nation, returns and now has the daunting task of having to top himself.
McQuarrie is not the only returning face, as the film seems to bringing back almost everyone from the last few films; Jeremy Renner is unfortunately the only major player absent.
Tom Cruise is of course back as Ethan Hunt alongside Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames, but the film will also see Alec Baldwin, Rebecca Ferguson and Sean Harris reprising their roles from Rogue Nation. But the big familiar face is Michelle Monaghan as Hunt's wife Julia, who was effectively written out of the franchise in Ghost Protocol. If she's set to return, something big must be going down.
Having said that, there's a few new faces to the series too. Angela Bassett is entering as yet another new head of the IMF, who will presumably be usurping Baldwin. Then there's Henry Cavill who, after the unfortunate failure of The Man from U.N.C.L.E., must be using this as another backdoor screen test to nab the James Bond gig. But of course, what we all want to know is what crazy stunt could Cruise possibly attempt next?
We'll find out next July.
