9 Blatant Lies Filmmakers Told To Keep Their Movies Unspoiled

7. Donnie Walhberg Claimed He Wasn€™t In Saw III

The Saw franchise managed to pay incredible attention to detail in regards to continuity, with the cast and story remaining more or less consistent throughout. When Saw III was announced it was tipped to be the epic final instalment that would tie everything together, but before filming began actor Donnie Wahlberg claimed he wasn€™t returning. He played main character Eric Matthews in Saw II whose fate was left in the air at the end of the movie. He claimed creative differences with the producers made him step aside from the role but it was all a ploy to keep his return a secret. Not only is Matthews in the movie he€™s the very first character the audience sees, as he makes a creative escape from the famous bathroom with some help from a toilet lid. His part is basically a cameo, sure, and one of the main reasons Wahlberg agreed to return was so the character would be killed off, but his death scene was deleted so he could be brought back again in Saw IV. He wasn't pleased about this so Matthews death in that instalment was made extremely definitive.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
