9 Blatant Lies Filmmakers Told To Keep Their Movies Unspoiled

8. Naomie Harris Said She Wasn't Playing Moneypenny In Skyfall

The most glaring omissions of the early Daniel Craig Bond movies were the characters of Q and Moneypenny. In the beginning this made sense as Bond was only starting out as an agent and they weren't essential to that story, but when Craig had grown into the part some more people began to wonder when they€™d reappear. And when a young version of Q was confirmed for Skyfall there was still no sign of Moneypenny. Then Naomie Harris signed on to play a new agent named Eve and the speculation went into overdrive. Maybe the new Moneypenny would be more active and actively help Bond out in the field? If that was the case, Harris wasn€™t saying. In fact, she explicitly denied that Eve was secretly Moneypenny and went as far as to say she'd never been in talks for the role. Even with the denials it seemed inevitable that she€™d be revealed as Moneypenny and no one was shocked to learn the truth in the film's final moments. The character didn't really need to be kept secret, but it makes a certain kind of sense when the new M is also revealed, meaning all the classic Bond tropes have come back around again at once. Harris later said she was instructed to deny the rumour and was relieved when she could finally talk about it.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
