9 Blatant Lies Filmmakers Told To Keep Their Movies Unspoiled
5. Marion Cotillard Denied She Was Playing Talia Al Ghul
The cast announcement for The Dark Knight Rises stated Marion Cotillard was playing Miranda Tate in the movie; a Gotham City business woman and potential love interest for Bruce Wayne. Christopher Nolan likes to keep his cards very close to the chest however, so people figured there must be more to her than that. The popular fan theory was that she was really Talia Al Ghul in disguise, coming to seek revenge on Batman and Gotham for the death of her father. The fans got some hard evidence when a set picture showed her hanging around with Bane and driving a Tumbler, but when an interviewer asked her if she was playing Talia she denied it completely and insisted she was playing a good guy. She said Miranda had nothing to do with Ra's Al Ghul and that she was on Batmans side the whole movie. Of course the truth is out now and everyone knows she was lying about it. To her credit she later apologised to the same interviewer who asked the question when they met again later.
