Very rarely does a parody movie ever hit the mark. There are exceptions to that rule of course, but for every Airplane and Kung Pow there's a graveyard of terrible dross usually with one or more of the Wayans attached to it.

Black Dynamite proves that when done right, with attention to detail and a respect for the subject, a parody movie can not only work but can be one of the funniest things you'll ever see.

Everything in this production is done with a fine eye from using Super 16 to get the look and feel just so, to subtle little twists such as leaving boom mics in shot or having people read their stage direction along with their lines ("Sarcastically, I'm in charge") Black Dynamite is a comedy masterclass.
