The pop queen sure had an impact in her one involvement in the Bond franchise, not only singing the much underrated opening number, but also starring in the film as well. Madonna portrays fencing instructor Verity, personal coach to Miranda Frost, the traitorous English agent turned North Korean spy.

While her role was little more than a cameo, the megastar had hoped that her character would still have a romantic dalliance with Bond. In fact, the word on the street was that Madonna had initially demanded that this occur as part of her negotiations for involvement in the film.

While the bedroom scenes were never filmed, there is some corny dialogue between Verity and Bond featuring plenty of fencing innuendos to insinuate the two were once an item. But, as we never see the two consummate their relationship in this movie, the fencing coach still counts here.
