9 Distractingly Bad Performances In Otherwise Great Movies

6. Django Unchained: Quentin Tarantino - Frankie

Now, we go from one terrible stab at the notoriously difficult Australian accent to another.

Django Unchained is an impressive and audacious Western with four great central performances from Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L. Jackson in particular, but despite this being such a well-acted movie there is a Razzie-worthy bit of acting in the film's final act from the film's writer and director, Quentin Tarantino, himself.

Tarantino might be a great screenwriter but you should never, ever let him act since that's one thing he really can't do. His performance in Pulp Fiction was pretty terrible but this one was even worse.

In this brief turn as an Australian slave dealer, Tarantino's performance is deeply annoying and silly, while his Aussie accent is dreadful too. Django Unchained really does go off the rails in the final act and while a terrible plot twist shortly before this character turned up had given some early warning signs, this extremely distracting cameo was pretty much the moment where it became clear Django Unchained wasn't going to live up to its first two hours.
