9 Divisive Movies That Should've Been TV Shows

4. Resident Evil

Once Upon A Time On Netflix
Screen Gems

This marks the only entry on this list that is actually being developed as a TV show, however that doesn't change the fact that it should never have been a movie series in the first place.

Anyone who has ever played a Resident Evil game will know that the plot of the series is...well, confusing, to put it mildly. The story centres around an organisation known as Umbrella Corps, who developed a virus that would be able to wipe put entire populations, thus eliminating the need for armies. In 2002, the virus broke out in Tokyo and Racoon City turning people into zombies, and just three years later the earth was almost entirely infected.

That's a super abbreviated version and almost every game revolves around a handful of police officers. It's very weird but awesome when done right, and the movies definitely didn't get it right. Imagine a TV series that starts at the very beginning of the outbreak in Racoon City, moves through the subsequent story-lines, and fixes the many plot holes.

It could be a horror show, or a fun show with dark humour, but we're inclined to think it couldn't be much worse than the movies. Fingers crossed Netflix does it right.
