9 Divisive Movies That Should've Been TV Shows

2. Assassin's Creed

Once Upon A Time On Netflix
20th Century Fox

OK, so the Assassin's Creed movie from 2016 wasn't so much divisive as it was outright bad. We've been made to sit through a plethora of awful video game movies over the years, but few missed the mark quite as badly as Assassin's Creed.

Despite the Ubisoft developed game series being one of the most readily-adaptable for movies, 20th Century Fox fundamentally failed to capture what makes the game's special. The movie was a confusing, drab piece of cinema that was dumb, ugly, and worst of all, boring.

That's not to say Assassin's Creed can't be adapted once more, but everyone would agree that it would be far better suited to a TV series. Imagine each season of the show looking a different time period in history, but having the overarching link of the protagonist using the animus to view their ancestors. It doesn't have to be a convoluted set-up, and would allow for various actors and time periods to shed light on the centuries-long struggle between assassins and Templars.

And this one isn't all that impossible, because Netflix is already adapting Ubisoft's The Division into a movie. Let's hope this property eventually gets the love it deserves.
