2. Pizza Planet Truck - The Incredibles

This didn't really count as a character to begin with, but along with an overall acceptance by Pixar fans, Cars turned the Pizza Planet Truck from an inanimate object that had an amazing ability of popping up around key life moments of brightly coloured characters to a seeing, smiling racing fan. Nowadays its pretty common for people who've worked their way up the company to take the reins of the latest film, but in Pixars early days directing duties were to sole remit of those who originally spearheaded the companies animation direction. Well, those people and their friends. Brad Bird had studied at CalArts with the rest of Pixars fabled Brain Trust, but had gone into the altogether different direction, working on The Simpsons and directing The Iron Giant before getting around to pitching the idea of a superhero send up to old school pal John Lasseter. On the face of it The Incredibles is pure Pixar, speaking a lot of the companies collaborative process, but theres some glaring omissions, chief among them the complete lack of the Pizza Planet Truck. Not seeing the point to the in-joke Bird didn't bother including it (although some fans swear it's present in the form of a yellow smudge in the familys arrival at Municiberg, which is clearly wishful thinking).
