For all the controversy and divisiveness surrounding the Disney-helmed Star Wars sequels and spin-offs, the cinematic return of beloved heroes Han Solo, General Leia and Luke Skywalker have universally put smiles on every fan of the franchise.

However, due to numerous winding threads, sub-plots and deaths, it is looking unlikely that we will ever get to see everybody's favourite trio of Galaxy-saving heroes together on the big screen again.
