9 Filmmakers Who Apologised For Their Movies

8. Damon Lindelof - Star Trek Into Darkness

Screenwriter Damon Lindelof appears to be something of a whipping boy in fan circles, having received criticism for his work on Lost, Cowboys And Aliens, Prometheus and Star Trek Into Darkness. The latter movie picked up negative feedback for the storyline; various plot holes (resurrection blood, really?) and an utterly gratuitous shot of Alice Eve in her underwear. While he didn€™t come out and offer an apology for the entire movie, he did say sorry for the underwear scene. He acknowledged that it could have been handled better, and that he promised to do better in the future with similar scenes. J.J. Abrams made a similar apology about the scene in another interview. He's also apologized to fans over the Lost finale, though he later withdrew it as he still feels proud of how it ended. He has yet to apologise for withdrawing his apology.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
