Green Lantern is an essential member of the Justice League - whether it be John Stewart, Hal Jordan, Kyle Rayner or anyone else, every JL needs a GL. As of yet, no Green Lantern has been cast in the Batman versus Superman movie, so it stands to reason that DC intend to give Green Lantern an origin movie. The first attempt at a Green Lantern movie - which will not be considered part of the new DC Cinematic Universe canon - infamously bombed. A miscast Ryan Reynolds portrayed Hal Jordan and the film made a mere $19 million profit from a $200 million budget, getting slammed almost universally by critics and fans in the process. DC and Warner Brothers will want to rectify this, with fans calling for the likes of Nathan Fillion to step in to Hal Jordan's boots and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson reportedly on the verge of playing John Stewart. Whichever actor plays whichever Green Lantern, it's an exciting prospect to think that we might finally get the Green Lantern movie that the fans deserve and that the titular character will ultimately be joining the likes of Batman and Superman in a live action Justice League movie.
