Duh. Enough said? Well, perhaps not. It has been said that the creators of Team America, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, sent copies of the film to everyone they made fun of including Kim Jong-Il. Although they never heard back from him, whether directly, or in terms of swift and severe retribution, it is common knowledge that both Jong-Il and his son are huge film buffs. The idea of Jong-Il teaming up with a bunch of American celebrities to take over the world might actually appeal to them. Hell, for all we know they watch it every Friday night. On the other hand, if he hasn't seen it, it's probably best for all involved, including all of the international audiences who laughed along as the puppet Jong-Il sang his way through "Ronery," if he doesn't. Provocative satire works best when the subject isn't open to criticism, but when he is fiercely devoted to protecting the mythology of his country's power, and honour, it might be a step too far.
