6. Jarhead
A lot has been said in films about the conflict in the Middle East, perhaps too much even. Almost a hundred documentaries and fictional movies later some people are beginning to get burned out. Then Zero Dark Thirty and Argo swooped in to revive their interest. Will the conflict ever end? It's hard to say, but for America it looks as though another showdown sixty years in the making may be coming with North Korea. Needless to say now is hardly the time to dwindle the military or make the soldiers look bad. The story of Jarhead was written by a guy who had a bad experience. Bad experiences happen to people every day when they step out their door. Doesn't mean it's the story that every marine has to tell. Except that Jarhead makes it out to look like it would be and the North Koreans sure are huge on propaganda.
