When it comes to found footage horror movies, Orin Peli has a special place amongst this subgenre.

Peli is the person responsible for rejuvenating this corner of horror - for better or for worse - with Paranormal Activity. Having directed that picture, the Israeli filmmaker has since gone onto serve as producer on five further Paranormal Activity offerings.

Since that first PA picture was officially released in 2007, Peli has actually only directed one other movie - that being 2015's Area 51.

As the title would suggest, this is a found footage film that focuses its attention on the famed classified United States Air Force that resides in Nevada. After Reid Warner suspects he may have had an alien encounter of his own, he and his pals decide to infiltrate Area 51 to explore things further.

The thing is, there are some matters that you really shouldn't push back on. And in this case, it was a hugely questionable decision to decide to head to Area 51 in search of aliens and answers.

For this group, it's a case of be careful what you wish for - as the group do indeed find aliens, which in turn leads to them all being abducted as the picture comes to a close.
