9 Improvements Needed For A Successful Assassin's Creed Sequel

7. Use Historically Significant Figures

Assassin S Creed Past
Ubisoft

The Problem

Possibly as part of the way the film chose to hamstring its presentation of the past, it also didn't use real life figures as the games do so well.

The games have always done a great job of showing the Assassins and Templars are pivotal organisations in the history of the world and giving the audience an inside look at how this secret conflict impacted key moments across time.

From featuring figures such as Alexander Graham Bell, Napoleon Bonaparte and Pope Alexander VI to having primary characters influence moments like the American Revolution, Italian Resistance and the Golden Age of Piracy. Seeing how Aguilar interacts with similar characters in his time period, friend or foe, as well as if he can influence major points in history will add interesting plot elements with plenty of room for further exploration.

The Solution

As well as shifting the primary focus of the film from the modern day to the past, an Assassin's Creed sequel should also look to draw from the games in the way they utilise historically significant time periods and key figures.
