9 Improvements Needed For A Successful Assassin's Creed Sequel

6. Set Up Assassins Vs Templars Better

Assassin S Creed Past
Ubisoft

The Problem

One failure of Assassin's Creed, across both the past and modern day timelines, was establishing the Assassins vs Templars conflict. We are told it has gone on for centuries and is a bloody feud but are never shown the roots of the conflict or any real reasons why the fight still continues to this day.

In the past, we are placed in the middle of an ongoing conflict that is underdeveloped and any understandable vitriol between the two sides is not established. The case is similar for the modern day, where the end goal of the Templars plan is very murky and the Assassin's appear erratic and unorganised. It's not a great start.

The Solution

Further explaining the current goals of both sides would give the audience a clearer picture of the main motivations of the opposing forces.

A sequel should show us what each side has suffered across time in battle with the other as well as their current goals and why the Assassin's must succeed against the Templars.
