9 Incredible Movie Scenes Let Down By Awful Acting
7. Star Wars Ep 3 Revenge Of The Sith - Obi-Wan Vs Anakin
In no way am I saying that the prequel Star Wars trilogy was groundbreaking, but retroactively in comparison to the latest decade of unplanned nonsense, they have accumulated a newfound respect. If you re-watch them now, you might still feel the same disappointment you felt when they first came out but there are some glimpses of great in them.
Ewan McGregor's performance as Obi-Wan Kenobi is consistently decent, and given what he had to work with (do you know the story behind "He Killed Younglings"?), you'd think he had a formidable co-star matching his acting chops on screen. Sadly he doesn't.
In the final act of Revenge Of The Sith, Obi-Wan squares off against Anakin Skywalker in a climactic dual teased throughout the saga. It's what we've been waiting to see since it was teased in the original trilogy.
While Ewan works with what he's got, Hayden can't seem to get to grips with what he's supposed to feel. His charisma is so robotic he might as well already be in the black Darth Vader suit. This was supposed to be the confrontation before they draw lightsabers and battle to the death.
Instead we got a scene too sweaty for a daytime soap.
