5. Blade Runner Originally Featured A Crazy German Doctor Named Hermann Schlecht Who Worked As Senior Vice President Of The Tyrell Corporation
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajK1ISnbMsU We're not sure what it is with crazy German characters getting removed from final versions of famous movies, but here's another one to factor in alongside The Lion King's Herr Rhino. Unlike with a lot of the characters on this list, though, one of this guy's scenes were actually filmed (check it out above). During the scene where Harrison Ford's Deckard calls J.F. Sebastian, then, he was originally supposed to put a call in to the Vice President of the Tyrell Corporation, a bizarre and very, very overtly German character called Dr. Hermann Schlecht. Hermann Schlecht only makes an appearance via video phone, but from the looks of things they made him as insane and downright terrifying as possible. As Deckard asks him a few questions about Sebastian, he mumbles his replies in a thick, nearly indecipherable accent, whilst squinting at us with what can only really be described as "a frankly horrifying face." Look at the way he delivers his lines. Who is this guy? We can only assume that this character didn't make it in as he didn't really add anything to the story, and because he was giving Ridley Scott nightmares.
