9 Insane Movie Theories That Actually Make Sense
6. The Little Kid At The End Of Forrest Gump Isn't Really His Son
Forrest Gump is an Oscar-winning film that tells the story of a man named - wait for it - Forrest Gump. His life is particularly noteworthy on account of the fact that he was present at a large number of very historical moments throughout the '60s and '70s.
At the end of the movie, Forrest is presented with a big surprise: a son. The mother of the child, Forrest Gump's childhood love, Jenny, dies due to complications from AIDs, and he's left in possession of the kid. The movie tells us that this is Forrest's actual son, conceived during one night of passion that she shared with him years earlier.
One theory denotes, however, that no, this isn't Forrest Gump's son, and that Jenny - knowing that she was dying - palmed Forrest Jr. onto him because she knew that Forrest would look after the child when she was gone, no matter what. To push that theory even further, there are some who even believe that Jenny actually slept with Forrest in the first place as a means of safeguarding a life for her future son.
It's a very cynical theory and it makes Jenny look like a horrible person, but it's not an entirely unbelievable one given that the arrival of Forrest Jr. always seemed a bit off.
