7. Alicia Vikander Trained 6 Days A Week & Put On 12 Pounds Of Muscle (Tomb Raider)
Though some awful, awful people have criticised Alicia Vikander's appearance as "not the real Lara Croft" for various reasons, the Oscar Winner has revealed the lengths to which she went to get into peak physical shape for the role.
She says that she put on 10 to 12 pounds of muscle for the role - no small feat - focusing mostly on weight training.
“I worked with my trainer for four months leading up to it, then every day before I started to film I was in the gym... It was something I really enjoyed. I felt very much in my body and I loved having another kind of strength."
And while working out five to six days a week may seem like torture, she was at least allowed a cheat day on a Sunday - her sanctioned “pizza day.”
Was It Worth It?:
The jury is a little out, to be honest. The film so far has been the epitome of divisive (it currently sits on 50% on RottenTomatoes as an indication) and while it absolutely wasn't awful, it's rather dull between its occasionally engaging moments.
