9 Insanely Ambitious Upcoming Movies You Won't Believe

2. Trying Again With Masters Of The Universe (Because It Worked Out So Well Last Time)

In the past, when studios have decided to make a live-action film based on a much-loved children's cartoon, the results have been varied...to say the least.

The Transformers movies have seen financial successes (while only a few critical) and the less said about the GI Joe series the better.

So when Sony Pictures decided to pursue a reboot of the critically despised Masters of the Universe film that graced our screens way back in 1987, fans were right to clench in anticipation/anxiousness.

Throw into the mix the relatively unknown Noah Centineo's casting as the Most Powerful Man in the Universe, He-Man, not to mention the picture being helmed by indie directors, Aaron and Adam Nee, and it would appear that Sony are taking a punt on this 2021 release.

It could be an inspired decision to not pile any unnecessary pressure onto the production by attaching egos to the project but to hand a hero, with a wealth of fan appreciation behind it, over to fairly untested hands could prove to be one ambitious move too far for Sony.
