9 Major Movie Stars Who've Died Onscreen In Really Disgusting Ways

4. Jon Voight - Anaconda

Voight Anaconda
Columbia Pictures

Jon Voight has given many acclaimed performances throughout his illustrious career, including Midnight Cowboy, Deliverance and Coming Home, for which he won an Oscar. Still, he claims the role he gets recognised for the most is that of the sleazy snake hunter in Anaconda, for which he uses a dodgy Spanish accent and gives possibly the hammiest performance in the history of cinema.

It’s clear Voight is having the time of his life chewing the scenery, and he probably swallows more of it than the actual snake. Of course the evil creep has to meet his end somehow, and his exit is particularly poetic. After the snake escapes his trap it clamps around him and nearly crushes him to death, before slowly swallowing him whole; we even get a POV inside the snake’s mouth while it engulfs him.

After the snake chases heroine J-Lo around for a bit it suddenly spits the barely alive hunter back out, who is now drenched in stomach acid. She screams in horror at the sight of him, and he just gives her a cute wink before dropping dead; which is pretty cool considering his situation.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
