9 Major Movie Stars Who've Died Onscreen In Really Disgusting Ways

The Counselor is some kind of movie anomaly; despite being directed by Ridley Scott, written by acclaimed author Cormac McCarthy and starring Michael Fassbender, Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem it still manages to be a borderline unwatchable, achingly self important piece of trash.

In between tiring bouts of dull characters spouting off would-be profound dialogue there's some inspired madness to it, and if nothing else it has one of the most graphic death scenes for an A-list actor ever. In the movie Brad Pitt has a supporting role as a middleman for a drug deal, who early on in the story talks of how Mexican cartels have developed a nasty device that’s capable of slowly decapitating its victim.

Needless to say this is how he meets his end when the self tightening wire is wrapped around his neck, and when he tries to pry it off with his hand all he succeeds in doing is getting his fingers sliced off. He also reveals that he must have really bad blood pressure, since the stuff explodes out of his neck when the wire cuts into it.

It's grim stuff, but it gets points for nasty creatively.
