9 Mind-Meltingly Awesome Times Nine Inch Nails Improved Film Trailers

5. Terminator: Salvation €“ The Day The World Went Away

Let's get one thing straight, Terminator: Salvation was an ungodly mess, but holy hell did it have one gripping and pulse-pounding trailer. The franchise was finally getting the longtime clamored for story centered on the war against machines. Playing "The Day The World Went Away" over the trailer was a stroke of brilliance that only heightened the hopeless atmosphere the film was going for. The song's lyrics perfectly blended into the film's apocalyptic depiction of Earth, despite in actuality being a very personal poem expressing Trent's sadness towards the passing of his grandmother. There's also the fact that the trailer is filled to the brim with defining money shots that sell tickets €“ a perfect example is when Sam Worthington's character dramatically looks down and realises that he isn't human, and distressingly screams out "Nooooooo!" just as the song enters its crescendo. http://youtu.be/6GmLfivKQL8 How did a trailer so mesmerising spawn such a horrid film?
