9 Moments Which Pissed Off Movie Fans In 2020
6. Sylvester Stallone Deciding To Get Rid Of The Robot In His Rocky IV Director's Cut
As we've already noted in this particular list, fans aren't exactly known for reacting well to blatant alterations being made to some of their favourite movies.
So, when the "Italian Stallion" himself Sylvester Stallone revealed on Instagram that he would be releasing a director's cut of Rocky IV (for the film's 35th anniversary) that would see Paulie's infamous robot cut from the feature, a number of folks were having none of it.
For some, the hilariously odd robot companion of Rocky's pal has become a treasured feature of Stallone's fourth Rocky outing (and the third he directed). Yet, for the director/star himself, the bot is clearly seen as nothing more than a useless piece of junk at this point, with Stallone replying to a fan saying:
"The robot is going to the junkyard forever. No more robot."
Before simply telling another curious follower:
"I don't like the robot anymore."
Fans of the Rocky series will likely still go out of their way to indulge in Sly's new cut of the 1985 boxing epic, starring a terrifying Dolph Lundgren, but there's no doubt the absence of everyone's favourite bug-eyed robot, Sico, will be painfully felt.
