9 More Actors Who Begged For Their Movie Characters To Die

2. Thomas G Waites - The Warriors

This one was a little bit more mutual than most on this list, but the actor involved ended up so angry at the rest of the production that his character was killed off even though this required the entire script to revised and its plot rewritten in order to off him and give the role of hero to another player.

Yes, whilst filming 48 Hours director Walter Hill’s grimy thriller The Warriors, actor Thomas G Waites fought so often and badly with Hill that the pair eventually opted to convert his character from the primary hero to a lesser side character. The director actually fired Waites before filming his hastily added death scene, with a stand in playing the part for that crucial moment.

Meanwhile, the previously minor character Swan became the new protagonist during filming, gaining both some of Fox’s coolest moments and his romantic subplot and creating an iconic sci-fi action hero in the process.
